When I was younger, my main hobby was just playing video games, some of them including: Minecraft, Geometry Dash, Lego Ninjago, Bloons TD Battles, and a few more that I don't remember. I definitely had hella fun collecting medallions and making my base stacked in Minecraft, but I don't really get much in the present from those games.
I don't wanna sound like a boomer, but people should found a hobby that, at the very least, have a outcome where the product can be tangable (digitally or physically). Even today, I still play a unhealthy amount of video games often. I might not be the most qualified to say to "get a useful" hobby, but I believe that anything could be converted to a meaningful hobby.
For example, look at my youtube channel; One of the main reasons why I continue to play video games is to farm clips to edit for my youtube channel. Sure, it might not be the best use of my time, but it converts my massive playtime on games into videos that others can watch.
Hopefully these paragraphs give you inspiration to start something interesting! Let me know how your journey goes :D
beautiful moment of history right here
i can't explain how enthusiastic i have been for the past month to experience this moment (it's really enthusiastic if you haven't figured it out)
TL;DR: I believe that changing the way people tip waiters will help increase business for restaurants and provide a better experience for customers.
Tipping is the act of showing generosity to your waiter by giving money as a way to reward them for their services.
In America, it is normalized to pay your waiter a certain amount of money, typically based on how well they have served you during your time at a restaurant. It has gotten to the point where tipping is considered "normalized", making it feel like people are obligated to pay waiters at least 15-20% extra on top of their bill.
I personally think that this normalization of tipping waiters in America isn't really a great idea, since it allows employers to pay waiters extremely low: to the point where they pay as low as $2.13/hr (source).
Here's my solution; what if we having a rating system instead of having others pay cash? This would be extremely beneficial to the customer(s), allowing them to save money on their meal(s). Indirectly, this would be also beneficial to the company, allowing the customer(s) to spend more money on food: instead of spending that money on the waiter's tip (in terms of money).
Using four stars instead of five helps identify whether the server was good or bad, instead of having the option to rating your server as mediocre. It also helps with the customer(s) choose a more honest question; since it provides less options, making the selection process easier.
Now you might be asking: "How does the server get tips then?". They would get paid based on two factors:
This system would work well since it accurately reflects on the customer's satisfaction, along with not having to use more money on their dining experience.
The only downside I could see from this is that the customers could lie and say that the waiter was extremely good/bad, but being the complete opposite. Either way, I think this would be better for the restaurant industry for both the customers and employers.
But do you think that this system would be good? Let me know in my discord server down below, thanks for reading!! :D
Leap days and pi day are easily my two most favorite numerical dates, they're so unique and go hugely unnoticed. Similar to the fourth of May, I celebrate 2/29 and 3/14 with great passion
They're both days that go hella unappreciated, I would like to at least give them a honorable mention in this blog <3
Helvetica
Verdana (Tohoma is similar)
Times New Roman (Garamond is similar)
Trebuchet MS
Impact
Papyrus and Comic Sans are also some of my favorites, but these are the main ones I really like that are built into HTML.
The font for this paragraph (and the majority of the other blogs) is Georgia; mainly because I think it's the most pleasant to the eyes when reading. The header font is Times New Roman, the headers on the buttons are Verdana, and the buttons are Helvetica.
(if you couldn't tell i really enjoy learning about different fonts)
Hello everyone! This is my first ever website (that I created by scratch) I made online, and I am really really glad that I was able to create this blog!
Originally, I wanted a website just to put my socials all onto one singular platform; to make it easier for others to find me online. After seeing websites like glass beach's (link) old website before the second album, I kinda felt like it would be fun to program my own website; making it feel more personal, unlike other websites which only allow a limited amount of templates.
Honestly, it is pretty easy to learn how to code your own website; I watched two tutorials that were about two and a half hours in total, each covering the basics of HTML and CSS. I would highly suggest making your own website, it's pretty fun!
I don't want to write too much, but I hope my works helps provide inspiration of whatever you're doing in your life currently. Thanks for reading this blog, and have a good day!
